Trapped With Nemesis Part 3

Once they got there, Carlos had decided to scoop out the area for any zombies or mutant monsters. Jill and Serah were left alone, waiting for Nemesis' arrival. Serah had her blaster ready at position but didn't see the beast anywhere in site. She turned to Jill asking,

"Where is that murderous beast?"

"I don't know but we should-"

Jill was cut off by a menacing growl as it came closer and closer to them. It was Nemesis. Jill and Serah continuously shot at the beast as it groaned loudly and stalked slowly towards them.

"...Eeeergh, Stars." Nemesis groaned and launched an attack on Jill and Serah, only to have them miss and dodge and go back to shooting him. He growled and roared with each shot. No matter how many bullets they shot at him, he would not back down. The pattern kept on repeating and repeating itself and nothing was fully getting accomplished at that moment.

"Uragh, he's even tougher here than in the real world!" Serah said with minor annoyance in her voice. "He just won't die!" She ran from his attack and kept shooting. Just in time, Carlos returned and witnessed the horrific scene.

"Carlos!" Jill yelled. "You mind giving us a hand here?"

"Gotcha!" said Carlos as he took out his missile blaster and with one shot, Nemesis was seen falling to his knees.

"...Stars.." he groaned his final words with his violet body fluid spilling on the ground.

The crew had successfully defeated the beast. Carlos looked at Jill then to Serah with an assured smile.

"Wow," he started. " You got spunk Serah!"

Jill looked at Serah and nodded to Carlos' statement. Serah smiled and blushed slightly.

"Thank you so much. I am honored to be your comrade."

"Yes." said Jill. "You have great skill, power, and courage."

"You're like little Miss Fearless here." Carlos commented.

From her bag, Jill took out a small puzzle cube that would help Serah get back home. She handed it to Serah.

"Here. Just press the button on the top to activate it and you should be home in a flash."

Serah smiled brightly and pressed the button. Soon, there was a flash of light and Serah felt herself being pulled out. Serah looked at Jill and Carlos and waved 'Goodbye' happily and the two adults did the same. Within seconds, Serah was back in her living room. Dave finally sees Serah and tackles her in a hug. Serah gasped and looked down at her brother. "Dave..?"

"Serah! Where have you been? I was so worried."

Serah continued looking down and embraces in a meaningful hug.

"Are mom and dad back yet?" she asked. Dave looked at Serah and shook his head.

"Not for twenty more minutes. You know you've been gone for thirty five minutes?"

Serah opened her eyes widely in disbelief and broke the hug and looked back at Dave.

"Thirty five minutes?!" she yelled. "It felt like I was gone for two hours."

Dave shrugged. "Just as when we were going to start the game, you just disappeared after that zap-attack you had."

Serah's mind had snapped back with an exhausted smirk growing on her face. She rested a hand on her brother's shoulder.

"Man, do I have a great story to tell you!"
